An all-way stop is a tragedy. And traffic lights aren’t much better. The whole point of roads is to go, but these all-way stop intersections force everyone to stop (and likely just a rolling stop). Roundabouts are practically magic by comparison: 37% reduced traffic collisions, 90% fewer fatal collisions, 89% reduction in delays, and 56% reduction in vehicle stops, according to Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) studies.
