Product Description

Parking lot and road signage is important for your customer’s convenience and your company’s branding (not to mention keeping you safe from liability and fines), but it’s unnecessarily difficult to use.

Signs mounted in the pavement are a pain to install and can’t be moved without demolition. Most temporary solutions aren’t much better: concrete bases are heavy and will crack, spall, and crumble. Plastic and rubber bases from the other guys do the same.

But our sign bases and curbside pickup systems won’t, and they’re easy to install, remove, and relocate to boot. Adding in our RubberForm Square Steel Perforated Sign Posts just makes it that much simpler to update your signage. We’ll put all your sign bases and sign posts on the same order, so it arrives together. You don’t need any special training to put your new signage together either. We made it so easy your grandparents could do it–and roll the sign bases into place too.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

What's the difference between your sign base and the plastic one I've seen for sale elsewhere?

The plastic knock-off you've seen is blow-molded, thin-walled plastic. That saves a lot of money for the manufacturer, but means it will break the first time it tips over or is ever so gently nudged by a vehicle. It also can crack open the first time it freezes, even without any collision. Our sign base won't tip over even in heavy wind, and won't chip, crack, crumble, or corrode in extreme weather or due to vehicle collision.

How portable are your sign bases?

They're so easy to move your grandparents could do it. Simply tip the base over on its bottom side edge and roll it into position (that's why our base is round!). Grab the top of the signpost and push/roll it into the top of the base. If you need a cart to move, we have two sign base carts: one for our 72-pound sign base and another for our 150-pound sign base w/base weight. No need for mounted wheels that will eventually rust or break off.

I need a heavier base than 72 lbs. for a high-wind area.

We have an add-on sign base weight for a total of 150 pounds (with the sign post). It also creates a wider base, making it less likely to tip.

Does your sign base come in colors?

We only make our sign base in black. However, we offer thermoformed plastic covers in safety yellow or handicap blue (as well as custom colors with a minimum order, depending on color) that snap right on top of the sign base for higher visibility.

What kind of sign posts can I use with your sign bases?

We have 2 signpost hole sizes: a 1-¾” perforated square sign post, and a 2-⅜“ round Schedule 40 thickness plastic post (or aluminum post with a minimum order, since we don’t normally stock them). We can also accommodate round posts smaller than 2-⅜“, just ask.

What post height do you recommend?

We recommend a 5’ signpost. This cuts down on the wind shear that might tip the sign base over in higher wind areas. If you require a taller post, we advise adding our 75-pound sign base weight that attaches to the bottom of our 72-pound sign base; this added sign base weight will enable you to go up to the MUCTD height of 7’ or 8’. You should also use a metal post for this application as plastic may flex in the wind.

What is the minimum quantity I can order?

Just one sign base! We can ship a boxed sign base out via FedEx or UPS ground to any location or up to 20 sign bases per pallet (bulk-packed, not boxed) via common carrier–LTL. We’ve also fabricated custom pallets for special orders, just ask!

What is the turnaround time to ship your sign base?

Our sign bases are usually in stock on the shelf and can be shipped out the following business day. Larger orders (greater than 1,000 sign bases) will take longer. Let us know your timetables and we’ll work to accommodate your delivery needs.

How many sign bases fit on a pallet?

We can ship up to 20 sign bases per pallet via common carrier–LTL (bulk-packed, not boxed).

Why are your sign bases round instead of octagonal?

Two reasons: our round sign bases can be rolled on their side, which is why we call them portable. Octagonal sign bases can't. But our round design is also more stable in high-wind conditions. The center of gravity is lower than any octagonal design we've seen. In side-by-side comparisons some of our customers have actually done, the round sign base always stays upright longer in heavy wind.
