Product Description

Parking lot and road signage is important for your customer’s convenience and your company’s branding (not to mention keeping you safe from liability and fines), but it’s unnecessarily difficult to use.

Signs mounted in the pavement are a pain to install and can’t be moved without demolition. Most temporary solutions aren’t much better: concrete bases are heavy and will crack, spall, and crumble. Plastic and rubber bases from the other guys do the same.

But our sign bases and curbside pickup systems won’t, and they’re easy to install, remove, and relocate to boot. Adding in our RubberForm Square Steel Perforated Sign Posts just makes it that much simpler to update your signage. We’ll put all your sign bases and sign posts on the same order, so it arrives together. You don’t need any special training to put your new signage together either. We made it so easy your grandparents could do it–and roll the sign bases into place too.

Key Features

FREQUENTLY ASKED

I have seen a cheap, thin plastic, blow molded sign base that looks like yours, do you make this one?

NO. This company is trying to fool you. It is thin-walled plastic that is blow molded and will break once a car bumps or hits it. The manufacturer wants you to fill with water or sand to weigh down, once you do this and it freezes, the thin plastic walls will break and leak all over. If you do not fill and the base blows over and hits a car, you are liable for the scratch on the customer’s car or if the customer runs over it. Do not be fooled by the imposter and buy the “The Original Sign Base™” conical, cone shaped sign base. Buy RubberForm’s portable sign base once for years of parking lot safety and risk mitigation. We now call our sign base product “The Original Sign Base™” as others have copied and tried to duplicate our conical shaped design to fool, dupe you in believing they are buying “The Original Sign Base”.

How much do RubberForm’s portable, rubber sign bases weigh?

72 pounds, with a very low center of gravity for added stability. We also have an additional 75-pound base weight for high wind areas for larger signs.

How portable are your sign bases?

Very, simply tip on its bottom side edge and roll the round base into position. Grab the top of the signpost and place your hand halfway down the signpost and push/roll into position. If you need a cart to move, we have two sign base carts, one for our 72-pound sign base and another for our 150-pound sign base post system, so no need for mounted wheels that will eventually rust, don’t work overtime or break off.

How do I lift or move your sign base?

You can either tip-and-roll the sign base into position, or if you need an easier way to move around, we offer a sign base mover cart for longer distances. 2 sizes available – for our standard 72-pound sign base and one that uses our additional 75-pound sign base weight, total weight, 150 pounds. Just slip the RubberForm sign base cart underneath the sign base or base weight, tip it back with one hand or use the sign base HD cart and use the custom fabricated two-wheel cart to move to a new location.

I am in a high-wind area, and I need a heavier sign base. Do you have a base that weighs more than 72 pounds?

Yes, we have an add-on sign base weight that will add 75 pounds to our 72 pound sign base, for a total of more than 150 pounds. It also creates a wider base - stance, making it less likely to tip.

Does your sign base come in colors?

We manufacture with American scrap tire rubber with white speckles called “The Original Sign Base™”. RubberForm also offer thermoformed plastic covers available in safety yellow and handicap blue that snaps right on top of the sign base for higher visibility. The plastic covers can be ordered in custom colors; however, we require a minimum quantity order.

What size signposts does your sign base use? Can I use round, square or U-Channel signposts?

We have 2 signpost hole sizes. They can be ordered with a square hole to accommodate a 1-¾” square perforated or smooth, square post with drilled holes. The square hole base will accommodate a U-channel post as well, just ask how. The signpost height to from 4 feet all the way up to 10 feet, however a base weight is needed for posts over 6 feet. We can also custom-fabricate square tubes to any configuration and powder coat any color. We also have sign bases with a round post hole to accommodate a 2-⅜“round Schedule 40 thickness, white or gray plastic post or aluminum post. Custom sized posts diameters are available upon request.

What post height do you recommend for your 72-pound sign base?

We generally recommend a 5’ signpost for our sign bases. This cuts down on the wind shear that might tip the sign base over in higher wind areas. If you require a taller post, please order our 75-pound sign base weight that attaches to the bottom of our 72-pound sign base; this added sign base weight will enable you to go up to the MUCTD height of 7’ to 8’, use a metal post for this application as plastic may flex in the wind. Please check with your local sign ordinances for the regulations and or sign code requirements.

What is the minimum quantity I can order?

Just one sign base. We can ship a boxed sign base out via FedEx or UPS ground to any location or up to 20 sign bases, bulk packed per pallet via common carrier – LTL. We’ve done it all, just ask as we’ve custom fabricated custom pallets and set-up for our national customers.

What is the turnaround time to ship your sign base?

Our sign bases are generally in stock on the shelf and can be shipped out the following business day. Larger orders (greater than 1,000 sign bases) may take a bit longer.

How many sign bases fit on a pallet?

We can ship up to 20 sign bases, bulk packed (not boxed) per pallet via common carrier – LTL. We recommend 15 so you can easily take off the sign bases when they reach your destination.

Why is the RubberForm sign base better than the rubber octagonal sign bases I have seen other places?

Most of these sign bases are imported, from China, Quebec Canada (Canada subsidizes their tire recycling and product manufacturing program as much as 50% subsidy) or other foreign countries. Our sign base is made in our plant in the USA, New York State. We have had these octagonal sign bases tested by national sign companies, and they told us the RubberForm sign base is much more stable in high winds due to its low center of gravity design and a lot more attractive. Our customers have done side-by-side comparison tests and “The Original Sign base” won, indisputably. The center of gravity is 1.5” in the center of our base – designed and engineered for excellence, safety and long-lasting service.
