Key Takeaways
- Poor trackout control leads to project delays, community complaints, and expensive fines.
- Traditional trackout methods often fall short and create ongoing maintenance headaches.
- Reusable trackout mats solve major pain points with a cleaner, more efficient approach.
- Quick setup helps crews get to work faster and stay productive.
- Durable recycled composite materials deliver long-term performance with minimal upkeep.
- Reduced cleanup time means faster demobilization and lower overall project costs.
Why worry about trackout control?
If vehicles track sediment and other materials out of your construction site and onto public roads, you could be liable for fines, potential lawsuits, and job delays. An effective trackout control system will handle not only dirt, mud, and rocks but also demolition debris and excess building materials such as plaster, wood, and glass. Managing your trackout control while keeping your project on schedule is a huge pain.
But you have to do it, because first, the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses don’t want waste tracked into their community. They’ll be sure to raise any environmental concerns. And second, your team and your client don’t want to deal with tracked waste either. It takes them away from the project they’d rather be focusing on.
We already have trackout control methods
The standard method of trackout control for the construction industry involves ‘stabilization’ techniques, like lining roadways with gravel or crushed rock to remove debris and mud from vehicle tires. This has many drawbacks:
- You’ve got to purchase the stone or gravel every time
- You’ve got to transport it to the site
- It takes hours to set up
- You need to redistribute or add stone or gravel periodically while you work
- You’ve got to clean all of it up when you leave
- And after all of that, it still might not control trackout
How RubberForm Trackout Mats work
We ship all our trackout mats folded up in compact form. Just lift it up with a front loader to unfold it. Then lay it out on the ground at your construction entrance or exit. Repeat with as many mats as you need for the width and depth of your exit. Then get to work.
You don’t need to call 811 or do any digging. You don’t need anchors or brackets. And you’ll never need a special tool just to clean out our mats. Just lift them up again and shake them out to remove any sediment that has accumulated, and lay it back down again.
By using specialized, reusable construction trackout pads at all site entrances and exits, you ensure that your crews keep roadways clean, enhance safety, and meet all regulatory trackout standards. That saves you from liability and potential fines, helps maintain strong relations with the local community, and keeps your clients happy.
What size mat do I need?
We have a variety of sizes of ground protection mat that can be combined to span any width and any depth you need. See our spec sheet for sizes and some sample construction exit layouts. All RubberForm Trackout Control Mats unfold and lay out the same way.
Our mats are made for vehicles up to class 9 with pneumatic tires. The mats are heavy enough to stay in place on dirt and gravel surfaces, so you won’t need any brackets or anchors to moor them.
Use, reuse, and maintain
Setup is easy. For any of our mats, just lift, lay out, and get to work. Cleanup is simple too. Lift the mat again, shake it out (no special cleaning tools needed), and fold back up for storage.
You can use our mats again and again at job after job. Our carefully innovated recycled composite materials won’t chip, crack, crumble, or corrode in the searing heat, freezing cold, or heavy traffic. That’s why our premier trackout blocks have a seven-year warranty (three for the essential model).
If you do somehow manage to break a trackout block, give us a call and we’ll send you a new one. Our construction entrance mats are fully modular, so you can disconnect the broken block and swap it out with a new one. We don’t believe in single-use solutions or built-in obsolescence. Construction safety products should be as tough and hardworking as you are.
Trackout control made super simple:
- Lift up the mat
- Lay it out
- Get to work
Done with a job? Then just:
- Lift the mat again
- Shake it out to clean
- Fold the mat for storage
How else can I simplify construction safety?
Pipe and hose protection has similar problems to trackout control. Standard construction methods often involve digging trenches and covering with gravel or stone, or just making a gravel or stone ramp. Just like stabilized construction entrances and exits, they need to be maintained with fresh gravel or stone. And they leave a huge mess to be cleaned up when the project finishes.
Our recycled pipe & hose ramps are just as easy to set up as our trackout mats. Just lay them down (some models can dovetail together) and insert the pipe. Cleanup is just as simple: remove the pipe and pick the ramps back up.
We also offer rubber curb ramps and wedge ramps to assist construction vehicles in ascending or descending any uneven surface during a construction project. We have portable electric cable support towers (or cord trees) for elevating electrical cables safely away from your team while they work. They’re non-conductive, easy to deploy, and can be used and reused at job after job, just like our trackout mats.
What next?
Trackout control is usually a drag on your work schedule and puts you at risk of costly fines. The simplest way to solve the trackout problem is with RubberForm Trackout Control Mats. Set up a mat in as little as 30 seconds, and clean and remove it again just as easily. Our mats are built to last years and years of heavy use, but if you ever do manage to break them, they’re fully repairable. Drop your messy, tedious one-off trackout solution and choose the most convenient trackout mat on the market.
